Purpose: Our Disaster Recovery (D/R) services are designed to ensure business continuity and rapid recovery in the event of unexpected disruptions. This document provides an overview of our D/R offerings, key service metrics, and configuration options.

D/R Configurations: We offer the following geographically diverse configurations to meet your redundancy and recovery needs:

  1. Denver (DEN) / Chicago (CHI) - $45/month

  2. Denver (DEN) / Madrid (MAD) - $65/month

  3. Madrid (MAD) / Frankfurt (FRA) - $45/month

Key Service Metrics:

  • Recovery Point Objective (RPO): 24 hours

    • Ensures minimal data loss, with backups performed daily.

  • Recovery Time Objective (RTO): 2 hours

    • Guarantees that critical systems are restored and operational within two hours of a declared disaster.

Firewall and IP Address Services:

Our managed firewall and IP address services are mirrored to the sister site in your selected D/R configuration. This ensures seamless failover for network and security services. Additional details:

  • Standard IP Configuration:

    • Customers using our shared IP space benefit from automatic routing adjustments at the failover site.

  • Dedicated IP Space:

    • If you have dedicated IP addresses, a secondary public IP is pre-configured at the failover site.

    • Customer Responsibility: In such cases, it is your responsibility to handle routing of internet traffic to the active (live) site during a failover event. This includes updating DNS records or BGP advertisements as necessary.

    • Dedicated Firewalls: In the case where customer IP Space and firewalls are self managed we advocate for a custom configuration with active firewalls configured at the sister site.

Service Scope and Responsibilities:

  • Our Responsibilities:

    • D/R site configuration and maintenance.

    • Data synchronization and recovery processes to meet RPO and RTO commitments.

    • Monitoring and testing of failover mechanisms.

  • Customer Responsibilities:

    • Maintaining accurate DNS or routing configurations for dedicated IP spaces.

    • Participating in regular D/R testing to ensure readiness.

    • Reporting changes in IT infrastructure that may impact the D/R plan.

Testing and Maintenance: To maintain operational readiness, we recommend conducting D/R tests at least once annually. Our team will assist in coordinating and executing these tests to validate failover functionality and recovery timelines.
